Favourite positive quote: “If you’re going to be there, be there fully.”

What do you love about working at Balance & Beam? All of it!

What’s the most memorable thing a B&B child has ever said/done? “I love you as much as my mummy and daddy.”

If you could teach anybody in the world a B&B lesson, who would it be and why? Moira and David from Schitt’s Creek – say no more!

Most of my career was office based until 2006, when I took the plunge to open my business. I launched as a 'The Little Gym' franchise owner and re-branded the business as Balance & Beam Gymnastics in 2010.  We currently have over 700 children attending weekly classes and the numbers are growing. It's a real privilege to be part of every child’s life who has bounced through our doors!

Unsurprisingly, I love gymnastics and helping little ones to cartwheel into a physical and happy environment from an early age. My loves are also backed up by numerous professional qualifications in Child Psychology, Childcare Learning & Development Level 3 and Business Management.

My wonderful husband is an avid road cyclist and I’m super proud of my three wonderful grown-up children, who have all ventured into hugely rewarding careers. Elliott is the founder of Boom Battlebar and Putt Putt Noodle. Jordan is an ex-marine, cross fit champ and World Record Holder for rowing across the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco to Hawaii in 30 days. Holly is a Litigation Executive and CILEX at a solicitor firm in Manchester. I’m also over the moon that my three little grandchildren all attend classes at Balance & Beam – now I can see them even more often 👏

I love being physically active, running, road biking, cross fit and teaching. I've even completed the odd triathlon! I enjoy holidaying and experiencing city breaks and am fortunate enough to spend lots of quality time with my family.

What do you love about working at Balance & Beam? Seeing little people having fun and the great team.

What’s the most memorable thing a B&B child has ever said/done? Noah telling me that “Stinky crisps are for the gym!”

If you could teach anybody in the world a B&B lesson, who would it be and why? Michael Jackson because he had self-worth and image issues. Our Programmes teach positivity, which I think he could have benefitted from. He would probably show us some of his dance moves that would have been great to see on our red mat!

I’ve worked at Balance & Beam since March 2014 and love it! It’s been amazing to see the business develop and I feel very proud to have been part of this growth. Marketing has been a lifelong career and supporting Balance & Beam with their sales and marketing has been thoroughly enjoyable. Seeing so many children enrol on our Programmes and develop confidence and ability is a real privilege – I’ve also met some lovely parents.

I enjoy fitness and sport and attend the gym regularly with my lovely husband, Phil. I also appreciate walking and aim to sneak one in every evening. We have two grown-up children and a beautiful little granddaughter, Violet Dolly, who is so much fun to be around and I probably spoil her too much!

What do you love about working at Balance & Beam? I am really enjoying my role as the Programme Manager. I love teaching fun classes and using my gymnastics skills to help develop the children. I also love how close we are as a team and the friendships we’ve built.

What’s the most memorable thing a B&B child has ever said/done? During our ‘healthy me’ week, I asked one child what their favourite vegetable was and they replied with “Sausage.”

I’m an ex-gymnast who represented the City of Stoke-on-Trent’s gymnastics squad in the West Midlands regional competitions for nine years.

I’m now in my mid-twenties and have worked at Balance & Beam since 2015. I absolutely love being part of the team and have recently been promoted to Programme Director, which essentially means I'm responsbile for all lesson planning & curriculum and I'm thrilled about it.

I have my Level 1 Award in Coaching Women’s Artistic Gymnastics and recently completed a New Manager fast track qualification.

My role is extremely rewarding and enables me to use my gymnastics experience when teaching children. I can help them develop different skills and encourage them to try new things.

It’s been wonderful to see so many little ones (and maybe not-so-little) grow, learn and develop through gymnastics over the years. I started gymnastics coaching when I was 17 and have hosted many wonderful Balance & Beam birthday parties (if I do say so myself) 😀

I look forward to meeting many more little people as we welcome you to our Balance & Beam family.
